Product design and proof-of-concept for a diving marketplace, including a recommendation algorithm matching divers to dive sites.
The problem
Divers spend hours trawling forums and tour operators trying to find sites that match their experience, conditions, and preferences. The founders needed to validate a marketplace concept with investors quickly.
What was built
Defined technical requirements from the founders' concept and built a rapid proof-of-concept. Designed a matching algorithm that balanced multiple variables: skill level, location, conditions, and safety.
My role
Product consultant: domain translation, algorithm design, and PoC build.
Outcome
Working PoC used to validate the business model with investors; bridged diving-domain expertise and technical implementation.
